October 29, 2009 2 comments

A few months ago, Honda marked its 50th Anniversary of operating in America by commemorating the establishment of American Honda Motor Co. Inc., in a small Los Angeles  storefront on June 11, 1959. “On behalf of the tens of thousands of  Honda associates in America, past and present, we offer our deepest thanks to our customers for placing their trust in Honda over the past 50 years,” said American Honda President & CEO Tetsuo Iwamura. “Today, in the face of new challenges, including the preservation of our environment, we renew our commitment to exceed the expectations of our customers and society.”
Starting in 1959, with the fuel-efficient Honda  50 motorcycle, to the newly launched 2010 Honda Insight gas-electric hybrid vehicle, Honda has introduced new technologies and business strategies that have shaped the industry and the growth of Honda. Honda?s cars
have consistently been award-winners, and Honda continues to look ahead with new improvements in it?s industry-leading fuel efficiency, safety, and performance, as showcased by the ever-evolving Insight, as well as one of Honda?s most advanced and promising projects- the ultra-efficient Fuel Cell vehicle, which is currently available in California.

Miami, Honda Looks to Improve its Hybrid Line

October 28, 2009 Leave a comment

Honda Motor Co. has enjoyed much success from its current hybrid system. Aside from being named one of the best cars by, Honda is also one of the most versatile vehicles on the market.

Honda is looking to expand its hybrid selection of vehicles by created a hybrid system for Honda large hybrid vehicles where two motors are being used instead of one. Currently Honda only features small hybrid vehicles that function off one motor, like the Honda Civic and the Honda Insight.

According to Tsuneo Tanai, COO of automobile operations at Honda, the company is also studying mating the system to a lithium ion battery. The company’s current hybrids run on nickel-metal hydride power packs. “It still requires some development time to make the whole energy management system suitable for lithium batteries as opposed to nickel batteries,” Tanai said.

Honda is still recovering from sales of its Accord hybrid that didn’t perform as well as they thought.  The Accord hybrid ran on a V-6 gasoline engine and was pulled at the end of the 2007 model year. Honda is planning to launch the CR-Z sporty hybrid in the United States next spring. The Honda CR-Z will feature a 1.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder paired with the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid tech that we’ve seen in action in all of Honda’s other hybrid vehicles.

Honda Corporation expects a big turn out for its new model. Miami residents can expect to the see the new hybrid model appear at their local Miami Honda Dealership by early next year.

Are Gas Prices Affecting Automobile Sales in Miami?

October 27, 2009 Leave a comment

The fluctuating price of gas has affected many markets through out the United States, especially the auto industry. According the American Automobile Association the average price for regular unleaded on Monday was $2.671 up from $2.564 a week earlier and $2.512 at this same point in September. Only a year ago we saw the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas at $2.699. It was also in July 17 of 2008 that we saw the average price of gas go up to an ultimate high of $4.111. The soaring gas prices haven’t made it easier these summer months either. People are so dependent on their vehicles this time around that it leaves them with no choice but to purchase gasoline at the regular price in Miami.

Sources say that crude oil had been holding at about $60 per barrel during the summer months and into early fall. Things have started to change slowly since then, as can be seen by the price for a barrel of oil this Monday priced at $82. “A weakening dollar could put significant pressure on dollar-denominated oil prices in the months ahead,” Bank of America Merrill Lynch said, “The combination of surging money supply, a rapidly weakening dollar and a cyclical improvement in oil demand could push oil prices above $100.”

Its great that Brickell Honda in Miami is able to promote low price used cars in Miami!

It is no secret that the “Cash for Clunkers” program was a rousing success for auto dealers everywhere. Over 700,000 used cars were traded in for new cars, and automakers and dealers actually suffered a severe shortage of new vehicles. This has also affected the supply of used cars, because there are a whole lot less to go around these days. As the laws of money go, the more rare something is, and the more people want that something, the higher prices go. Long story short, thanks to Cash for Clunkers, used car prices have skyrocketed, and new vehicle prices have jumped as well.

With all that being said, if you are looking to buy a car, but would like to save money by buying a used vehicle, then why not ensure that you are getting a quality product? Miami’s Brickell Honda offers Honda Certified Used Cars, which are arguably the best deal on used vehicles out there. Not only do you get the quality and longevity that comes with every Honda, but you get a CARFAX®-certified automobile that comes with a 7 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. The key to getting a great deal on your next car purchase is competition. Every auto dealer around the block is competing with one another to give you the best deal; use this against them. When competing for good car prices remember to be persistent and patient, remember that this is a trial and error process. If one auto dealer doesn’t budge, visit the next dealership that meets your needs. A number of websites have extensive free information on car prices and other matters.
